The New Product Innovation of the Year Award celebrates the best new products in home and personal care manufacturing industry in Africa.

This category is valid for new products launched since January 2023. 

The Awards are aimed at encouraging more thoughtful and impactful innovation in Africa.

Judges look out for innovations that strive to meet rising consumer needs and have broken new barriers in the product’s conceptualisation, unique product formulation, processing and packaging and other unique attributes. 

The category is divided into the following sub-categories:

BODY & FACE CARE PRODUCT INNOVATION OF THE YEAR

The Award is bestowed upon new products such as creams, serums, masks, lotions, sunscreen, foundations, blush, mascara and other related products that are utilised on the body and face by consumers.

HAIR CARE PRODUCT INNOVATION OF THE YEAR

The Award is bestowed upon products such as shampoos, conditioners, hair oils, gels, dyes, masks, mouses, hair serums and scalp treatments, and hair extensions and related products.

LAUNDRY & HOME CARE PRODUCT INNOVATION OF THE YEAR

The Award is bestowed upon new products such as laundry powders, detergents and pods; soaps, surface cleaners, bleaching agents, fabric softeners and disinfectants

FRAGRANCE & BATH CARE PRODUCT INNOVATION OF THE YEAR

The Award is bestowed upon new products such as perfumes, deodorants, antiperspirants; tooth pastes, mouth wash, body wash; tissues, surface cleaners and disinfectants, bath salts and oils etc.

BABY & FEMININE CARE PRODUCT INNOVATION OF THE YEAR

The Award is bestowed upon new products such as sanitary and hygiene pads; baby and women wellness and care products and adult wellness amd care products
